The Topsfield Lantern was created by a local resident who loves this town and saw a simple need: a shared place for neighbors to stay informed, connected, and inspired.
We are a hyper local news project dedicated to shining a light on the people, places, events, and stories that make Topsfield special. From school happenings and town meetings to small business spotlights, community celebrations, and everyday moments that matter, our goal is to be a welcoming hub for it all.
The Topsfield Lantern is proudly independent. That means our focus stays right here, on our community, without outside influence. We believe local stories deserve local voices, and that strong communities grow when people know what’s happening around them.

The Name and Logo
On April 19, 1775, Topsfield residents left their fields and marched 30 miles to join the fight after the Lexington Alarm. Our Lantern logo honors their courage and spirit, reminding us that ordinary people can make a difference. The Topsfield Lantern shines a light on stories that keep our community connected today.
